Preference-based Scheduling of Hospital Scenarios

چکیده
The planning of surgical operations forms a substantial element of hospital management. It is characterized by high complexity, which is caused by the uncertainty between the capacity offered and the true demand. Also, as emergency cases occur the planning requirements change. In our approach the proposals for the schedules are made with the help of the heuristics. In order for a schedule to be accepted by those involved, it should take account of the interests and preferences of all the human actors. Existing systems do not do this and therefore suffer from levels of non-acceptance of their resulting schedules. In this paper we discuss suitable heuristics for operating theatre scheduling, the limits to which preferences can be considered in the scheduling process, and the validation of the approach in an experimental set of hospital scenarios.

A Nurse Scheduling Model under Real Life Constraints
Background and Objectives: In this paper, a real life nurse scheduling model is described based on the conditions in Iranian hospitals such as monthly shift rotation, consecutive morning and evening shifts and consecutive evening and night shift. Methods: The developed model considers both hospital constraints and nurses’ preferences. Hospital constraints include assigning adequate qualifie...
متن کاملMultiple Destination Influence on Production Scheduling in Multi-element Mines
In multi-element deposits, different blocks are blended together to create a product with a predetermined quality. Generally, blending aims to obtain a special quality and quantity based on determining the processing plant or customer needs. However, blending causes different products based on the deposit properties. Thus, a block is blended with others to create one of many possible products. ...
متن کاملStochastic Joint Optimal Distributed Generation Scheduling and Distribution Feeder Reconfiguration of Microgrids Considering Uncertainties Modeled by Copula-Based Method
Using distributed generations (DGs) with optimal scheduling and optimal distribution feeder reconfiguration (DFR) are two aspects that can improve efficiency as well as technical and economic features of microgrids (MGs). This work presents a stochastic copula scenario-based framework to jointly carry out optimal scheduling of DGs and DFR. This framework takes into account non-dispatchable and ...
متن کاملMaximizing the nurses’ preferences in nurse scheduling problem: mathematical modeling and a meta-heuristic algorithm
The nurse scheduling problem (NSP) has received a great amount of attention in recent years. In the NSP, the goal is to assign shifts to the nurses in order to satisfy the hospital’s demand during the planning horizon by considering different objective functions. In this research, we focus on maximizing the nurses’ preferences for working shifts and weekends off by considering several important...
متن کاملMulti-period and multi-resource operating room scheduling and rescheduling using a rolling horizon approach: a case study
In this paper, a multi-period and multi-resource operating room (OR) scheduling and rescheduling problem with elective and semi-elective (semi-urgent) patients is addressed. A scheduling-rescheduling framework based on the so-called rolling horizon approach is proposed to solve the problem. The core of the proposed framework is a novel proposed mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model with...
